I’m getting excited! Just about to get my visa for my next trip to Gendit. I’ll be taking part in ‘The Breaking of The Stone Ceremony’ which I think is the UK equivalent of the breaking of a bottle against the side of a ship. Except that it will launch the digging of the foundations for the next phase of the school build not a cruise.

Three classes are now up and running with our newly appointed teachers! Grade 1 (7/8 year olds), Grade 2 (8/9 year olds) and Grade 3 (9/10 year olds) are being taught English, Maths, Environmental Sciences, Amharic (the local language) and Art - the standard Ethiopian curriculum. The headteacher has been appointed and he is called Mr Endalk Tsega.

The power of technology has seen £1,450 donated in just two weeks and we want to say a huge thank you to all those who have supported us to date. 

Every little really does help.
